New Member & Elders Elected

This past Lord's Day the Hopewell membership had the pleasure of welcoming a new member into the Hopewell fellowship and electing our first two ruling elders.

Our brother Andrew, having previously been examined by the leadership for a credible profession of faith, took the vows of membership before the congregation.  He was subsequently welcomed by the congregation with the right hand of fellowship.

Andrew grew up in a covenant home with the nurture of the gospel. Through intense study of Scripture he came to understand more fully and personally the power of God to save sinners.  He trusted Christ & made it his aim to serve Him all his days.

After the service a congregational meeting was held to formally elect church officers.  The Hopewell gang gave their unanimous support to John Sparks and Dave Lillo to serve as the church's first elders.  We look forward to their tender governance as they shepherd this flock of God.

A special service will be held on October 23rd to formally install them as officers.
